United States employment
For September 2026, nonfarm payroll employment increased by 29,000 and unemployment was 4.2%. The BLS release said employment changed little in major industries. These figures describe the September survey period, not current conditions.

United States consumer prices
In August 2026, CPI-U rose 0.4% month over month on a seasonally adjusted basis and 3.4% over 12 months on a not-seasonally-adjusted basis. CPI excluding food and energy rose 2.4% over 12 months. The next release, covering September, was scheduled for 14 October 2026.

European Union output
Eurostat’s 7 September estimate reported second-quarter 2026 quarter-on-quarter real GDP growth of 0.6% in the euro area and 0.7% in the EU. The year-on-year rates were 1.2% and 1.4%. Eurostat reported that inventory changes reduced the quarterly contribution in both aggregates.

Singapore and the Asian economy
Statistics Singapore reported 5.9% year-on-year growth in real GDP in Q2 2026, alongside 12.4% growth in nominal GDP at current prices. These measures are different: nominal growth is not adjusted for price changes. The underlying quarterly series is made available under Singapore’s Open Data Licence v1.0.
